Getting ahead of adversity

At Headversity, we are committed to a future where mental fitness is proactive, not reactive. It’s as routine as physical fitness and accessible to everyone in your organization.

Trusted by workplaces big and small

Meet the minds behind Headversity

What happens when a psychiatrist and a learning technologist team up to fix a broken system? You get Headversity, a mental health training platform grounded in science, built for real people, and driven by founders who know that better mental health at work starts long before crisis hits.

We are reframing how we deal with mental health as less like going to the doctor and more like going to the gym.

Dr. Ryan Todd,
Co-Founder

Dr. Ryan Todd is a psychiatrist, educator, and entrepreneur who founded Headversity to change how mental health is supported in the workplace. Early in his career, he saw the consequences of a system built to respond instead of prevent. As a practicing psychiatrist at Foothills Medical Centre and a Clinical Lecturer at the University of Calgary’s Cumming School of Medicine, Ryan worked with patients facing extreme adversity: athletes sidelined by injury, people struggling through chemotherapy, and employees burnt out by ongoing pressures.

He knew mental health skills could be taught just like physical ones. So he created Headversity, a platform that measures, tracks, and trains resilience using proven techniques from psychiatry, neuroscience, and sport psychology. Today, his clinical expertise continues to shape the platform, from assessment models to learning design.

Ryan is also the host of Beyond the Checkbox, a podcast that explores what it takes to build mentally healthy, high-performing organizations. Whether he’s teaching future clinicians, treating patients, or leading the medical direction of Headversity at Headversity, his mission is the same: to make mental health skills accessible, practical, and part of everyday life.

Dr. Jordan DeCoste,
Co-Founder

Dr. Jordan DeCoste is an educator, entrepreneur, and technologist with a long-standing focus on how people learn. He’s taught as a professor, published academic work, and founded multiple EdTech ventures. With Headversity, he brings all of that together in what he calls his most meaningful work yet: a platform that makes healthy learning and better living possible for every employee.

At Headversity, Jordan co-leads product innovation with Dr. Ryan Todd and Headversity’s renaissance CTO, Russ Greenspan. He was the architect behind the company’s blended learning system, which combines personalized training for individuals with collaborative team experiences and platform intelligence that adapts to each organization’s needs. That foundation is now helping companies in more than 22 countries meet the Psychological Safety and Mental Health Standards like ISO, the U.S. Surgeon General, and the Mental Health Commission of Canada.

Jordan believes that when learning is relevant and frictionless, it sticks. That belief shows up in every part of the platform, from its practice-based structure to its AI-enablement and to the way it integrates into the tools teams already use. His role at Headversity brings together his deep experience in learning science and his drive to build solutions that improve lives at scale.

We’re serious about walking the walk

We don’t believe in burnout-as-a-badge-of-honor. We believe in doing work that matters, alongside people you’d actually want to have lunch with.

Yes, we’re fast-paced. That’s what happens when you’re building something important. We’re also the kind of place where mental recharge days are a real thing and nobody blinks if you block time for a therapy appointment or mid-day workout.

There’s no internal politics here. Just good humans doing great work, collaboratively, candidly, and with a shared belief that how we work is just as important as what we’re working on. We celebrate the wins, learn from the misses, and make time for real connection (usually over snacks, sometimes on our rooftop patio).

When a lot of your waking hours are spent at work, we think those hours should leave you better, not worse.
